Update on everyone's insightful posts, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w3YFq_EdUo

Trump's remarks to a Jewish fundraiser, implying strongly that he thinks of Jews in stereotypes. That's the theme of the video by Cenk Uygur, the usual talking head at Young Turks.

@Brainout
Trump is like a major retailer that starts with "W" and ends with "mart". He is willing to say anything and everything for customer satisfation.

The last thing we need is a business man. We need a leader that will abide by and enforce the Constitution. But it won't happen.

Notice how we are offered every possible choice BUT the Constitutional choice. We have entered an era in USA where voting is but an illusion of power. Yes, we are living somewhere in the Twilight Zone.

Yeah, I read that article this morning. Now the Republican establishment is talking about a brokered convention to get rid of him. If that happens and Trump is unfairly put in the trash bin, that is the end of the GOP. It will go the way of the Whigs, and quickly. There will be no time to organize another party either with the Clintons and socialists breathing down our necks. The states would probably break up, go their own way. I know this sounds far fetched, but the establishment boys in the back room do not seem to understand just how pissed off, disgusted, and broke the people in this country are. Hell, millions of people in half the states petitioned to be allowed secession when Obama was reelected. This would be 100 times worse.

K. I watched the speech. Here are a few points/questions that I feel need to be addressed:

1) The Iran deal was stupid, it needs to be undone. I agree 100% with Trump on that. Big thumbs up.

2) Israel is a sovereign nation. Why is it so important that any American President draw up a deal between Israel and Palestine? Democrat or Republican, America needs to stop rubber-necking its way into Israel's business. I get that Trump is addressing Jews here, but Israel is not America.

That is a big can of worms that's been the status quot for the last 40+ years. And it is complicated, but as simply as I can put it: Though Israel is a sovereign nation, it has been the threat of US military might that has held the middle east in check all these years, keeping the Jews from being pushed into the sea. At the same time, US dependence on middle eastern oil and the petro-dollar for which it stands, has made the US reluctant to always back Israel 100%. The result has been a lukewarm stalemate between Israel and the rest of the ME. The US is the only country that could arrange the peace between the Jews and Palestine because it is the only power that has kept the limited, watered down peace that Israel enjoys today in place. But really, the whole idea of Palestine is a canard, but I have not the time or inclination to go into that subject. I believe brainout has some posts about that in another thread.

Israel is not America, but America has been an important ally and plays an important roll in helping them all not get slaughtered. America has enjoyed blessings from above for taking this position, though with Obama that has changed. I wish the Jews would abandon Zionism altogether and all come over to N. America. They are too easy for the Devil to exterminate where they are presently located.

3) ISIS! How would Trump handle ISIS? If he wants to arm more local factions, its not going to work. Remember McCain's photo op with the FSA? Now the FSA is ISIS' mainline. Again, its all because USA was rubber-necking its way into the business of sovereign nations. Personally I don't think a bit of it was accidental. To kill ISIS you defund the FSA.

Haven't you heard? Trump has come out the last couple of days saying he wants to kill them all and their families.Think Daleks of Dr. Who fame. Trump wants to unleash the Daleks on ISIS and the nests they breed in. As far as ISIS and FSA, there is much much more to that story, and the breadcrumbs lead to Washington. The information is out there if you want to know just how twisted things have become.

4) Replace Obamacare with what? Another elaborate quasi-socialist scheme? That's like Bush and Medicare Part D. We need tort reform so that competition can dominate the medical market again. Then we can stop using the Third Party scam as a crutch.

Trump has said he wants to remove all the boundaries so that Insurance companies can compete in all 50 states. Free market principles would naturally drive prices down. From that, I take it that he wants to 'replace' the ACA with something more akin to free enterprise, but he hasn't released position papers on it, so beyond that, I couldn't say.

I like that Trump is financing his own campaign, and I like the way he talks, but it really sounds like THEY are all trying to tickle our ears.

The American people have itching ears and want to be pandered to. Every politician, no matter how reluctant, has to kiss babies. Trump, at least, is pandering to the idea that we are a sovereign nation.
