Only 2 GB of RAM? I was about to go on a rant about 945GM supporting 4 GB and that Apple is ridiculous for breaking Intel's already crippled legs, but it looks like you can get those mac minis to 4 GB of RAM by modifying the EFI so they accept 2 GB SODIMMs.
Honestly Intel was so stupid to limit memory on their mobile platforms over and over, ugh!

It's probably worth it if that machine sees enough use. Be advised Core 2 Duos output more heat than Core Duos and aren't actually faster aside from supporting 64-bit instruction sets. I don't believe a Core 2 Duo would be necessary for the 4 GB RAM mod (because I don't see any reason why that would be), but I haven't done the mod so don't quote me.

Fired up my old 2006 Intel Core Duo Mac Mini and put it through its paces. This machine although old is on steroids fitted with a 64GB SSD and maxed out 2GB DDR2 RAM.
Lets see how it can hold up for the next seven days running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
