I'm not tech savvy. In fact, I absolutely hate computers. My first memory of a computer involved some ancient variation Mac/Apple technology that used floppy discs, when Ross Perot became the infamous "spoiler". The memory is bitter-sour, because my Computer Class teacher in elementary school was a heartless drill sergeant Commie-Nazi who hated kids and should never have been hired on as a teacher in the first place.

The above sub-rant was a repressed memory that suddenly resurfaced solely because of Windows 8. I bought this computer (that runs on windows 8) simply because I wanted to avoid the scourge of Windows 10. My 2 year old cell phone works better on the 2G network than this piece of post-lithic garbage does. There are times that I seriously consider driving my fist through the screen of this sorry excuse of modern technology, but then the Lord promptly reminds me of the METER. As much as I HATE Windows 8, it is my only practical way to analyze the meter without reverting to OT methods. So Windows 8 isn't my friend, nor is it my enemy, it has become my FRIENEMY....much like the Soviet Union was to the USA, as WWII came to a close.

Windows 8....Just wait until the day that I no longer need your substandard services. It is quickly approaching. Perhaps Alienware can fill your shoes.

Much like Stockholm syndrome when the Hostage becomes friends with their Captors.

If you need a (legal & unused) Windows 7 license, installation media and instructions I can send that your way.

However it would have to be sent privately.

I have one of those all-in-one PC's. Do you think maybe that is my problem more that the operating system itself? If so, then making the change on this machine might not be worth it. Like I said, I'm not very tech savvy.

You can still find good Win7 computers at Dell or Ebay. I've had good experience with both. Dell offers a year warranty, maybe.

https://www.dellauction.com/ They've completely overhauled the website now, I don't like it, but basically you look left and select laptops. Used to be able to search on Win7, but I see no search now. One of the options near the top is 'Dell Refurbished' which is where I bought some Win7 machines also, later models.

My last 6530 (a 2012 model) I got at Dell Auction for only $300, with FHD, 8GB memory, full Win7 Pro and other goodies I don't remember. I didn't think I'd win the auction at that price (it was a $3,000 machine when new). So prices come down fast.

Ebay, I'll have to look up the seller cuz it matters what seller you pick.

On the other hand, maybe you can get Apple and run Win7 inside it. Like you I'm not that tech savvy, but I installed many Linux flavors on external hard drives so if Win7 tanks I can then revert to Linux. It handles Firefox, Adobe, Word/Excel which are really all I use anymore.

It all depends on your needs. All-in-one PCs it's assumed you're using the stock parts which are usually junk. I wouldn't use anything less than an Intel SSD for a hard drive.

My personal system always 'works' and never runs into any problems. But it's also light years more complex than a clone peecee.
