SO HOW DO YOU SIGN UP? Well, The 'Register' and 'Login' options are in the first strip at top left of the Board Index, just below the logo; or, you might see them also at the bottom of the Board Index (Board styles vary). You can register with a real or fake name and email address (yes, email addy can be fake), then pass the spambot test (question you should be able to answer but bots can't). :D

You will then IMMEDIATELY be able to post here, or create any new topic you like, no restrictions. I programmed the thing not to ask for email verification. Then look for the head-and-shoulders icon to set your preferences, profile, etc. These forums have eight 'skins' you can select: the two blue, two black, one gray, one orange, one sepia and finally a teal green. If you know of other 'prosilver' themes I can find, let me know. These are all from 'Arty'phpBB version.

Click here for an orientation video. Or for the Youtube copy, click here.

This place will stay small, probably. So it stays stable and quiet. Not too many spam bots will want to come here, and are easily removed. Makes it a good place to collect posts, articles, and make your own syllabus, start threads for only a few to discuss, etc. Trolls won't likely come here, even though the forum is free and for controversial topics: if 'Bible' is among them, trolls don't stick around.

If you want out, just PM me, and I'll delete your account. You can always delete any or all of your own posts. You can always change username or email, in your profile.

The Registration language seems to contradict what I posted. It is not my wording, but standard phpBB wording, as follows (pasted from the Registration page):
  • "By accessing “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)” (hereinafter “we”, “us”, “our”, “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)”, “http://brainout.net/frankforum”), you agree to be legally bound by the following terms. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms then please do not access and/or use “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)”. We may change these at any time and we’ll do our utmost in informing you, though it would be prudent to review this regularly yourself as your continued usage of “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)” after changes mean you agree to be legally bound by these terms as they are updated and/or amended.

Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “phpBB software”, “www.phpbb.com”, “phpBB Limited”, “phpBB Teams”) which is a bulletin board solution released under the “GNU General Public License v2” (hereinafter “GPL”) and can be downloaded from http://www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions; phpBB Limited is not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct. For further information about phpBB, please see: https://www.phpbb.com/.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)” is hosted or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by us. The IP address of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)” have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither “FrankForum (where Frankness IS the Forum)” nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. "
Notice that the focus is on the country's laws. Since I'm the forum owner, I won't invoke deletions except as already stated for spammers, stalkers, and anti-semites. The only other exception would be if some government entity forced me to do it. Who that might be, I don't know, given net neutrality.

If I could delete the quoted language above, I would: it's impossible to adjudicate. I don't care what 'offensive' language you use, for when you state offensive things, you prove yourself infantile. So you end up censoring people away from listening to you, when you talk or act in an offensive manner. Therefore, no external policing is required, you already jailed yourself.

But I can't delete the language, as it's a condition of using phpBB. But I can interpret it, and now you know how I will.

Just a note. If you use a fake email address, as I did, it must be for a real domain. The registration page checks the domain for an MX record. For example I tried to use name@fakeemail.brainout.net, and name@email.fakedomain, but because they don't exist the security measure on the registration page refused to let me use them. I ended up using name@brainout.net (name being replaced with my username) which isn't ideal for me, or the owner of brainout.net. I would suggest disabling this security measure, if it can be?
